Privacy & terms
Last updated 5 November 2026. In plain words: we keep as little as we can, for as short a time as we can.
What happens during a party
The names and avatars people pick, the scores and the game state live only in the server's memory while the party runs. Nothing about the party is written to disk. An empty party closes after 30 minutes, any party after 3 hours without play, and every party after 6 hours, and then all of it is gone.
Pick any name you like. You don't need to use your real one.
What we count to make it better
To find problems, we keep anonymous counts:
- That a party started, how many joined, which games were played, how long they took, and whether a TV was paired.
- How quickly the game answered (round trip in milliseconds), dropped connections, and error messages from the server or your browser.
- A rough device type, such as "Android Chrome" or "iOS Safari".
- For security: host actions (like locking a party or removing a player) and refused requests (like too many wrong party links). These carry a short scrambled code made from your network address, so repeated abuse can be spotted. The address itself is never stored and can't be read back from the code.
These counts never include names, the party link, or anything people type. They are kept for up to 400 days and then deleted automatically.
Feedback you send us
If you rate a party, tap ๐ or ๐ after a game, or write a comment, we keep the stars, your comment, whether you were a guest, the host or the TV, and the rough device type. It isn't linked to your name. Please don't put personal details in a comment. We read every rating, good or bad, and use it to decide what to fix and build next. Feedback is kept for up to 400 days.
Privacy choices
You can stop this device from sending the anonymous counts above. If you host with counting turned off, your party isn't recorded at all. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat that as "off" automatically.
Anonymous counts: on
Security records of refused requests stay on, because they protect everyone's parties.
Cookies and storage
We use no advertising or tracking cookies, and nothing from other companies runs on these pages: no ad networks, no analytics tools, no social buttons, and even the fonts come from our own server. That's why there is no cookie banner.
Your browser keeps a few small things on your device so the game works:
- Your seat in a party, so you get it back if your phone locks.
- The name and avatar you used last time, your Tambola marks, your sound setting, and your privacy choice.
- If hosting ever needs a login, a sign-in cookie that lasts 30 days.
- On a TV, its pairing with the party.
They stay on your device, and clearing your browser's site data removes them.
Who else handles the traffic
The game runs on a rented server from a hosting company, and traffic passes through Cloudflare, which protects the site from attacks. They handle data only to run that service, and it may be processed outside your country. We don't sell or share data with anyone else, and there are no ads.
Children
Phataka Night is a family party game, played with a host who invites the guests. It isn't directed at children on their own, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children. A child's name exists only in memory during the party, like everyone else's.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it. Because we store no names or addresses, there is usually nothing that can be linked back to you, but we'll check and answer. Write to privacy@playtoli.com. Messages to that address are forwarded by Cloudflare to a Gmail inbox, and kept only as long as needed to answer.
Terms of use
- Phataka Night is free and provided as it is, without any promises that it will always work or be available. As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for any loss from using it.
- Hosts decide who to invite. Be kind: no offensive names, and don't harass other players. The host can remove anyone.
- Don't attack, overload or try to break into the service. We may close parties or block networks that do.
- Brand names, slogans, songs and films mentioned in the games belong to their owners and are used only as references for fun. We're not connected to or endorsed by any of them.
- We may update this page. The date at the top shows the latest version.
